Russia Warns US-Brazil Trade War Will 'Doom' Global Economy
A grim report prepared by Russia’s Trade Ministry for President Medvedev is warning today the United States President Barack Obama’s [photo top left with Brazilian President Lula da Silva] hardening stance against Brazil in the escalating trade war between these two powerful Nations is threatening to derail an already weakened Global economy and may “doom” it to extinction should China enter the fray on the side of South America. As to the igniter of this latest Global trade dispute Obama has steered the United States into we can read as reported by the Christian Science Monitor News Service in their article titled “Can Brazil's protectionism get US to practice free trade?” and which says: “Following a WTO ruling in their favour, Brazil proposed tariffs on US goods if American cotton subsidies weren’t repealed. With the proposal provoking little response, Brazil has recently threatened to disregard American intellectual property rights on top of the tariffs. This would include pharmaceutical drugs, movies, food, and much else. American lawmakers aren’t budging on the cotton subsidies.. » read more
